“Every limbo boy and girl
All around the limbo world
Gonna do the limbo rock
All around the limbo clock”
~Chubby Chucker

Counting the days, twenty-some days until . . .Β the election . . . new book publication . . . “National How do I Change the Clock on my Microwave Day” (aka the end of daylight saving time).Β While the to-do list remains as cluttered as every closet in my house, I feel paralyzed. Sitting at the same desk where I buried myself in book writing for months, I find myself twirling pens.Β

I feel in limbo, and not the musical game variety, sadly. I did have the skills once upon a time. Dictionary.com says limbo means “a region on the border of hell or heaven” in Roman Catholic Theology. I think that sums it up. Let’s move on.

I sent the new book to the proofreader last week!Β Β Prying it out of my typewriting hands proved as hard as letting go of the perfect nacho. As anyone who has ever had to decide when any creative work is “done” can relate. And what do I do now that it’s out of my hands for two weeks? Brrrrring brrrring, I hear that list of procrastinated tasks calling me. But these pens aren’t gonna twirl themselves.
What’s keeping you going this October 2024?Β Let me know.Β Β

Final note

NOTE: if you are fleeing hurricanes, floods or fires, I apologize for subjecting you to my self-absorbed navel gazing. May you find safe shelter, essential supplies, comfort and Grace.
